Richard Kerr, a survivor of child sex abuse at Williamson House and Kincora Boys’ Home in Belfast, is hoping that his legal action against those responsible for failing to safeguard him as a child, will be listed for hearing later this year. He has faced innumerable delays and obstacles in getting his case to court thus far.
He poses the defendants a severe problem in that:
- He has a very high profile and the media will be watching the trial;
- No-one denies that he was a resident at Kincora Boys’ Home in the 1970s;
- No one denies that he was sexually abused.
The real issue is whether he was abused beyond the four walls of the residence itself. If that is established, a 40-year-old cover-up of MI5 and MI6 wrongdoing will fall apart and the reputations of an array of NIO, MI5, MI6 and RUC officials, government ministers, Whitehall mandarins and the like will lie in tatters. There is no doubt that sinister and dark forces have been trying to undermine Kerr’s credibility for years. They would hardly have gone to this trouble if he was not telling the truth. They got a lucky break with the appointment of the former judge, Sir Anthony Hart, as Chair of the Historical Institutional Abuse Inquiry (HIA). Hart was perhaps the least gifted person available. His 2017 report was a car crash. It even managed to contradict itself on simple, yet crucial, facts about Sir Maurice Oldfield, the former Chief of the British Secret Service.
Hart reported that: “There is no evidence to support his claim that he was ‘trafficked [from Belfast] to London’ aged seventeen. The irrefutable evidence examined by us is that from 4 October 1977 until February 1979, except for the few days between 21 October and 7 November when he was on bail before being remanded back into custody …..’ This comment would be somewhat impressive except for one thing: Richard Kerr was born on 12 May 1961. Hence, he did not reach 17 until 12 May 1978. He was therefore still 17 when he was released, i.e throughout the period February-May 1979. However, none of this is really that relevant except to show flimsy thinking on the part of Hart. The important point is that Kerr was abused as a resident of Kincora during 1975-77. It is a mystery why Hart became fixated upon his 17th year to the detriment of the abuse he suffered as a younger teenager and child at both Williamson House and Kincora.
In any event there is plenty of evidence that he was taken out of Belfast while he was a resident of Kincora while he was younger than 17. Why Hart focussed on his 17th year is a mystery. Kerr was in fact abused from the age of 8 at Williamson House and during his time at Kincora.

The next picture was taken by one of his abusers in London. At the time he should have been in Belfast as he was still a resident of Kincora Boys’ Home.
At least Hart wasn’t corrupt. A crooked judge would not have reproduced some of the revelatory MI5 documents that were supplied to him as Hart did. Unfortunately, it must be stressed Hart made no use of them, misunderstood their importance and bent over backwards to indulge in demonstrably erroneous speculation to dry-rinse the truth from them. A bright, intelligent and corrupt judge would have suppressed them.
Kerr had the good sense not to appear at the HIA as did other genuine whistle blowers such as Colin Wallace.

That ship has now sailed and sunk beneath the waves. The IICSA wasn’t torpedoed, it scuttled itself. The living members of the Anglo-Irish Vice Ring of which Kincora was a part have escaped justice yet again. Put simply, the Jay Inquiry has been a stupendous and monumental failure.

The dark forces arrayed against Kerr have been busy trying to put words into his mouth. One website which included claims that Kerr never made was quickly denounced by him. So, nice try, but forget that one for the trial. See: Who is afraid of Richard Kerr?
They have also attempted to intimidate Kerr without success. Where this man gets his courage is a mystery.
In November 2016 Kerr received the following anonymous letter purportedly from the UFF:
DEAR RICHARD,
HAVING READ AN ONLINE ARTICLE ABOUT YOU TODAY CONCERNING YOUR BEHAVIOUR IN LONDON IN 2015, A GROUP OF SURVIVORS HAVE RESEARCHED AND DISCUSSED YOUR ALLEGATIONS.
IT IS MANY UK-BASED SURVIVORS OPINION THAT YOU ARE PLAYING A GAME AND WORKING FOR THE ABUSERS STILL.
THERE ARE FIRST HAND ACCOUNTS OF YOUR BEHAVIOUR IN DOLPHIN SQUARE AND IN KINCORA INCLUDING ACCOUNTS OF YOU ACTING AS FACILITATOR FOR ABUSERS.
THERE ARE ALSO ALLEGATIONS AND ACCOUNTS OF YOU ACTIVELY TRYING TO DISCREDIT OTHER SURVIVORS INCLUDING THE SUSPICION THAT YOU IN FACT KILLED STEVEN ON THE BOAT, RATHER THAN THE STORY YOU TELL OF HIM COMMITTING SUICIDE.

The anonymous letter was posted from south East Anglia. There is, however, little or no mystery about the identity of its true author. It was certainly not the UFF.
Kerr had made a number of trips to Ireland and the UK before he received the letter. During these trips he was – as he puts it himself – “hijacked” by some very unsavoury characters whom he instinctively distrusted and to whom he decided not to provide his address in Texas. This group pretended they were interested in exposing the VIP paedophile ring but in reality wanted to find out what Kerr was going to say about it and discredit him.
Instead of providing his own address, Kerr gave them the address of a trusted confidante who lived on the North Central Express Way in Dallas. Yes, you guessed it: the threatening letter was subsequently sent to that address.
The North Central Express Way address was also provided to the BBC’s ‘Panorama’ programme. However, since the staff at ‘Panorama’ are not known for sending vile threatening letters to child-abuse survivors, the odds must be high that it was sent by those who had tried to ‘hijack’ him.
In addition, two others were provided with the address, both of whom can be discounted as the author of the letter.
Corruption is embedded in the DNA of the legal system in the UK. We are not talking about grubby bribes in brown envelopes. The corruption is more insidious than that. It is a corruption that is motivated by class, bigotry, snobbery, racism, bias and ambition. British judges (not to mention police officers, newspaper editors and politicians) have demonstrated time and time again that they are prepared to bend the rules for an opportunity to bend the knee and receive a tap on the shoulder at Buckingham Palace. The overriding principle is that the wrongdoing of the State has to be covered up at all costs, especially if the victims are working-class Irish people. No less a figure than Lord Denning, Master of the Rolls, admitted as much when he said it was preferable to let innocent men – the Birmingham Six – rot in prison than damage the legal system. Let us hope that the judge in Kerr’s forthcoming case will not be cast from the same mould as Denning, the dolt Hart, or worse still, that perfect definition of moral corruption: the Freemason, bully and liar, John Passmore Widgery, the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, 1970-80. He vilified the murder victims of Bloody Sunday. Records since declassified establish that he did so on orders from Ted Heath. The tools he employed were fabricated statements, the assistance of corrupt officials on his inquiry team, a refusal to read genuine witness statements, a refusal to call key witnesses and the twisting of some of the evidence he did hear.

Prince Andrew will not be questioned, let alone charged with his abuse of Virginia Giuffre. A few knighthoods will be doled out for that when the dust settles. The number of confirmed paedophiles with knighthoods and the police and intelligence chiefs who protected them is breathtaking. Let’s not even begin to mention Tory and Blair era party political funders and other assorted sleaze merchants with titles. Another array of ‘sirs’ and ‘m’luds’ earned their gongs for selling British arms to despots to bomb places like the Yemen. Are these people so utterly crass and depraved that the screams of their victims can be drowned out with these empty and pathetic titles? (Actually, no: the money is enough.) The diplomats who oil the wheels of the horrorific arms sales usually end up with titles as well (and jobs in the industry after retirement.) The British honours system must be the most debased coin on the planet.
Col. Derek Wilford, the commander of 1 Para, was given an honour after his troops shot and murdered 13 people (with another dying later) in Derry on Bloody Sunday. He has lied and perjured himself about what happened ever since. He has never been stripped of his honour. And why would he. He ticks many of the criteria boxes for an award: he is corrupt, a liar and only murdered a few Irish Catholics.
Wilford’s boss, Sir Frank Kitson, who slaughtered Catholics by the dozen in Belfast, was festooned with honours and given the ultimated accolade for a British soldier: he became aide de camp to Queen Elizabeth. Kitson enjoyed hunting and killing black people in Africa, something he compared to a sport. Kitson, who is alive and well, lied on oath when he appeared at the Saville Inquiry into Bloody Sunday. Collusion with the UVF et al began at his behest. He was also involved in the atrociois McGurk bar scandal. The prize for the most corrupt, callous and evil policeman in the UK over the past 50 years goes to Sir George Terry who conducted an inquiry into Kincora decades ago. His report was so dishonest even Hart was able to spot it and felt obliged to call him out for it. Terry’s cover-up let the members of the Anglo-Irish Vice Ring prey on children long after the Kincora scandal erupted in 1980s. Sir Peter Morrison MP, private secretary to Margaret Thatcher, was one of the beneficiaries. He went on to rape children in England and Wales with abandon. He was also protected by the Cabinet Secretary, Sir Robert Armstrong, and the Director-General of MI5, Sir Antony Duff.
Sir George Terry also made it possible for his fellow knights, Sir James Savile and Sir Cyril Smith to destroy the lives of countless vulnerable children in care.
Is there an MI5 mandarin who has not received a gong from the Queen over the last 50 years? MI5 has enough blood on its hands to fill a lake. Most egregiously, it was responsible for the vicious asassination of Patrick Finucane; collusion with the UVF, UDA/UFF and Red Hand Commando; the murderous bomb assault on Dublin and Monaghan (33 dead); and protected the Anglo-Irish Vice Ring. Rather than shut this mafia down, Boris Johnson is enacting legislation to permit them commit crimes.
It will be fascinating to see what the judge at Richard Kerr’s legal action will make of the photographs taken in Venice. Will he/she be persuaded that on the balance of probability the Divis Flats can be discerned behind Kerr as he stands on the marble steps? Perhaps that is not Big Ben in the background of the London picture at all, rather the crane at Harland and Wolff in Belfast. An observation like that would surely merit a trip to Buckingham Palace to receive a knighthood form Prince Andrew’s mum.
